The La Conchita Community Organization was established in 2005 following the second Mud Flow in town that destroyed many lives and home in its path.  Without pointing fingers, there were many mistakes made during these years around Hill Side erosion and protection, Farming Practices, Repair and remediation and communication of what to do and where to go during the event.  The town was suddenly under the spotlight and News Crews were hounding traumatized resident for interviews and perspectives-it was chaos!  The LCCO came out of this as a organized voice for the protection of our rights and reputation.  The LCCO continues to play a role as the point of contact for residents and outside agencies to contact and work with o programs and projects that impact our lives and homes.  This website will be used to bring residents new and contacts to elevate concerns and needs.  It is a two way communication and the LCCO is not a governing body but a consolidator of communications and coordinator of events.  Involvement is open to all and we will hold a town meeting once a year for all to attend.  As a volunteer organization, please be patient when requesting information and feel free to stop those involved in the street if your matter is pressing.  The goal is to assist you in your efforts and not to do it for you, so if you bring an issue, please also bring a solution to work with.
